{"id":247,"date":"2026-04-01T10:03:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T09:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/?page_id=247"},"modified":"2026-04-01T10:17:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T09:17:17","slug":"editing-users","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/users-and-groups\/editing-users\/","title":{"rendered":"Editing Users"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can edit users in one of two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"editing-users-one-at-a-time\">Editing Users One at a Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the user or group name in the list to access a dropdown allowing you to view or modify various settings for that user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"291\" height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/config-users-menu-user.png\" alt=\"Per-User Dropdown Menu\" class=\"wp-image-264\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">User Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"198\" height=\"178\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/config-users-menu-group.png\" alt=\"Per-Group Dropdown Menu\" class=\"wp-image-266\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Group Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Users and Groups have options for editing the Rate Limits (<a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/users-and-groups\/setting-rate-limits\/\">see here<\/a>), Self Service Computers (<a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/users-and-groups\/managing-user-self-service-computers\/\">see here<\/a>) and User Access Levels (<a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/users-and-groups\/changing-user-access-levels\/\">see here<\/a>); Groups also have menu options for &#8220;<strong>View Members<\/strong>&#8221; to see what users appear in the group, and &#8220;<strong>Refresh<\/strong>&#8221; Group to have the group updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a user has Two Factor Authentication enabled, you will also see the option &#8220;<strong>Disable Two Factor Authentication<\/strong>&#8221; which can be used to disable this for the user in case they become locked out of their account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"editing-multiple-usersgroups-at-the-same-time\">Editing Multiple Users\/Groups at the Same Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select one or more users or groups by checkbox next to their entry in the user list, then click the <strong>Edit User<\/strong> button to edit the Rate Limits, Self Service Computers and User Access Levels for all of them at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you edit multiple users at the same time, the edit window will have an additional <strong>Selected Users<\/strong> dropdown that you can use to confirm which users you have selected and toggle them off to exclude them from the edit operation if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"398\" height=\"162\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/config-users-edit-multiple-users.png\" alt=\"The &quot;Selected Users&quot; List shown when editing multiple users at once.\" class=\"wp-image-267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/config-users-edit-multiple-users.png 398w, https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/config-users-edit-multiple-users-300x122.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Selected Users List<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clicking a user will deselect them, and any changes made when clicking <strong>Save Changes<\/strong> will no longer apply to them.
