There are several of these available (selected in the Config page, see <a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/settings\/customisation\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"153\">Customisation<\/a>), this example shows the short NATO alphabet. So, if for example two passwords were shown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Expiration Date<\/th><th>Password<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>2021-01-01 10:00:00<\/td><td>Password#1<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>2021-02-01 11:00:00<\/td><td>Password#2<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We know that &#8220;Password#1&#8221; was expired some time around 10:00 on the 1st January, depending on Group Policy. By default, a user with the Expire Password permission using this function will cause the password expiry to be set in the past, thereby triggering a password reset on the computer at the next opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the global <strong>Allow All Users to Specify an Expiry Date and Time<\/strong> setting has been enabled (see <a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/settings\/password-reset-options\/\">Password Reset Options<\/a>), then all users with the Expire Password permission will instead be prompted to enter an expiry date and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"506\" height=\"372\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/overlaps-ui-expire-password.png\" alt=\"Specifying a Password Expiration Date and Time\" class=\"wp-image-319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/overlaps-ui-expire-password.png 506w, https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/overlaps-ui-expire-password-300x221.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Specifying a Password Expiration Date and Time<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alternatively, if you don\u2019t want to set this for all users and would prefer to do it on a per-user\/group basis, then you can change the <strong>\u201cSet a Precise Expire Date &amp; Time<\/strong>\u201d setting to enabled on a user\u2019s User Access Levels settings (see <a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/configuration\/users-and-groups\/changing-user-access-levels\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"251\">Changing User\u2019s Access Levels<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that an expired LAPS managed password will only actually reset when the computer next performs a Group Policy update. You can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/user-interface\/computer-management\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"46\">Computer Management Tools<\/a> to trigger this on demand if needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the computer list you can click on a computer to display its LAPS managed Local Administrator password.
