Typically it is only used when initially adding your first Administrator user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To add a new user simply click the <em>New<\/em> button and enter the user\u2019s domain and username information in the right. Optionally, if you want the user to be an administrator in OVERLAPS, check the <em>Administrator<\/em> box. Then click <em>Save Changes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To edit a user, select them in the list. You can then toggle their Administrator status or disable Two Factor Authentication (2FA) on their account if it is enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that if Two Factor Authentication is enforced from the Site Settings, the user will be forced to re-enable it when they next login.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, to remove a user or group, select them in the list and click the Remove button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that group members cannot be edited or removed from this interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"host\">Host<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"713\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_host.png\" alt=\"OVERLAPS Host Settings Configuration\" class=\"wp-image-129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_host.png 713w, https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_host-300x230.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Host Configuration<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Host tab allows you to configure the basic web hosting settings for OVERLAPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ports\">Ports<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Set the HTTP and HTTPS ports that OVERLAPS will listen on for client connections. Default: 80 and 443.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"address-list\">Address List<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Configure the list of addresses that OVERLAPS will respond to requests on. By default, this will be set to the IP address and DNS hostname of the server it is installed on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding an HTTPS certificate binding in the HTTPS tab for other addresses (e.g. a DNS alias) will automatically add the address to this list as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional addresses can be added by clicking the \u201c<em>Add an Address<\/em>\u201d button, or addresses can be removed by selecting them and clicking the \u201c<em>Delete Selected<\/em>\u201d button. Addresses can be disabled by unchecking the checkbox next to their name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding an invalid or incorrect address may result in the OVERLAPS service being unable to start. If you are having difficulty with the service starting, check the log file for possible causes or <a href=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/overlaps-documentation\/getting-support\/\">contact our Support Team<\/a> for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"https\">HTTPS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"714\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_https.png\" alt=\"Setting up HTTPS\" class=\"wp-image-130\" srcset=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_https.png 714w, https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_https-300x229.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Setting up HTTPS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The HTTPS tab helps to setup OVERLAPS to host its content over a TLS\/SSL encrypted connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To use this section you will first need a PKCS12 certificate private key file (.pfx or .p12). Changes are saved automatically, but some settings may require a service restart before they will be picked up by OVERLAPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of the settings included here are more easily modified from within OVERLAPS where better descriptions about their purpose and possible values are provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take care when modifying the configuration settings as mistakes made here can lead to the OVERLAPS service failing to load, or could reset all of your settings to their defaults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tools\">Tools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"713\" height=\"545\" src=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_tools.png\" alt=\"Configuration Utility Tools\" class=\"wp-image-133\" srcset=\"https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_tools.png 713w, https:\/\/overlaps.co.uk\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/configuration_utility_tools-300x229.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Configuration Utility Tools<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, this tab provides a few additional helpful tools such as quick access to the OVERLAPS logs, and the ability to start, restart or stop the service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The GUI Configuration Utility which provides a simple point-and-click interface to help you configure OVERLAPS on the server on which it is installed.
